Important updates from the JJ conference. The FCD has a strong showing at the JJ this year with approximately ten students from six colleges across the state; no small feat given the distances some had to travel. Live updates will be put up when any major updates come up.
Here at FCD, we're gearing up for one of our most active Summer and Fall semesters yet! On July 26th, College Democrats from across Florida will be traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina for the College Democrats of America convention. Featured speakers will include DNC Chairman Tim Kaine and various Democratic elected officials! As part of the convention, College Democrats from all over the county will vote to elect the national chapter's new leaders. However, you must be physically present to vote!

Our current Director of Membership, Jessica Kirsner, announced her pending resignation on Monday July 5th, 2010. In accordance with Article 3, Section G, Paragraph a of the FCD Constitution, our President will nominate a successor, followed by a confirmation hearing with the full FCD Executive Board. I am pleased to announce the appointment of Danyle Jackson to chair the newly re-established Florida College Democrats Black Caucus.
Danyle from Florida A&M will be taking the lead as the chair of the Black Caucus. She plans to help campuses across Florida register African-American voters of college campuses and increase the representation of African-Americans in our local, state, and national government. I hope you will join me in welcoming her to this exciting caucus position!
